Back in 2012, Ayushmann Khurrana started his acting career with the movie “Vicky Donor,” starring alongside Yami Gautam. Since then, he has explored various movie genres, including thrillers, romances, and comedies, in films like “Article 15,” “Bala,” “Dum Laga Ke Haisha,” and more. Recently, Ayushmann Khurrana has been enjoying the success of his latest film, “Dream Girl 2,” in which Ananya Panday also starred. He talked about how the movie brought back memories of his childhood, especially the film “Chachi 420,” and expressed his excitement about the film’s great success.
In “Chachi 420,” well-known Bollywood actors like Amrish Puri, Om Puri, and Kamal Haasan played significant roles, and the comedy film was highly entertaining.
Ayushmann shared that “Dream Girl 2” made him feel nostalgic because, like Kamal Haasan in “Chachi 420,” he played both a male and a female character in the film.
He mentioned, “For me, ‘Dream Girl 2’ was a movie that brought my childhood memories to life. I’ve always been deeply inspired by Kamal Haasan’s films and his exceptional acting skills. ‘Chachi 420’ was a film I loved, and Kamal sir was so convincing while playing a woman. So, for me, playing a role similar to what Kamal sir did on screen was a great experience.”
Ayushmann also discussed how challenging it was to convincingly portray a female character in “Dream Girl 2” and how the film’s success boosted his confidence. He expressed his happiness about the film being well-received by the audience and how comedy, among all genres, can be the most difficult to please viewers. He expressed his gratitude for the hard work paying off.
