The Chennai city police have charged actor Mansoor Ali Khan for making offensive comments about actor Trisha Krishnan.
The Nungambakkam Police filed the case under Sections 354 A (sexual harassment) and 509 (outraging modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code, following an order from Director-General of Police Shankar Jiwal.
The National Commission for Women also directed the Tamil Nadu police to take action after noticing the issue on social media.
The controversy arose from a video where Mansoor Ali Khan expressed a desire for a rape scene in a movie featuring Trisha, similar to scenes he had done in the past with other actresses. Trisha and Mansoor Ali Khan do not share screen time in the film ‘Leo,’ but they play significant roles.
In response to Khan’s comments, Trisha posted on a microblogging site, condemning his remarks as sexist, disrespectful, misogynistic, repulsive, and in bad taste.
She expressed gratitude for not having worked with someone like him and asserted that she would ensure it never happens in her future film career.
