Meghna Gulzar’s movie, “Sam Bahadur,” has caused a lot of excitement among the audience ever since its teaser was released on October 13th. In this film, actor Vicky Kaushal takes on the role of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, and fans have been eagerly waiting for the movie’s release.
Interestingly, the film was shot at 13 different locations across India, which includes places like Mumbai, Pahalgam, Srinagar, Jodhpur, Delhi, and more. The reason for this diverse range of locations was to capture various moments from Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw’s life journey and to highlight his significant contribution to five wars.
Now, who was Sam Manekshaw? He was the Chief of Staff of the Indian Army during the 1971 India-Pakistan war and the first Indian to hold the rank of Field Marshal. Throughout his four-decade-long career, he was involved in five wars and received prestigious honors from the government, including the Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan.
“Sam Bahadur” is written by Meghna Gulzar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala under the RSVP Movies banner. It features actors like Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Neeraj Kabi, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub alongside Vicky Kaushal. The movie was announced in 2021 on Sam Manekshaw’s 107th birth anniversary and is the second collaboration between Vicky and Meghna, following their work together on the 2018 film “Raazi.”
