Mercedes-Benz India just made some big news. They’re growing their electric vehicle charging network to include folks who drive other car brands. This move is aimed at encouraging more people to switch to electric cars in India. They’ve also rolled out a fancy electric SUV called EQE 500 4MATIC, priced at Rs 1.39 crore. Alongside this, they’ve opened a fresh ‘Customer Experience Centre’ in Pune, known as Chakan.
Mercedes-Benz is making electric vehicle charging more accessible by letting all electric car owners, no matter the brand, to use their charging network. As per Santosh Iyer, the Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, they boast the largest charging network among luxury car manufacturers, totaling 140 chargers, which also includes fast chargers.
In an effort to boost electric vehicles further, Mercedes-Benz is stretching their charging facilities to all car brands, both luxury and mass market. This move is set to speed up the adoption of electric cars in India.
Additionally, Mercedes-Benz, in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI), has come up with an app. This app lets electric vehicle owners, whether they drive a Mercedes or not, to access an extra 150 superchargers across India. It’s convenient for everyday use and different kinds of commutes.
Regarding the launch of the EQE 500 4MATIC SUV, Santosh Iyer stressed its importance in Mercedes-Benz’s electric vehicle lineup. It offers top-notch luxury features, advanced technology, and connectivity. Notably, it comes with a 10-year battery warranty and only needs servicing every two years.
