German footballer and defender, Robert Bauer, recently announced that he has converted to Islam. He expressed his gratitude to those who supported him on his journey to becoming a Muslim. He shared this news on his Instagram account by posting a picture of himself praying. He mentioned that he embraced Islam through the influence of his wife and her family. In his post, he thanked everyone who had helped and encouraged him along the way.
Bauer also posted a verse from the Holy Quran, which says, “and he is with you wherever you are” (Qur’an 57:4), on his Instagram story.
As for his career, Robert Bauer currently plays for the Saudi Arabian club Al-Tai. He joined the Saudi Professional League on a one-year contract in May. His professional journey in football began when he made his Bundesliga 2 debut on October 31, 2014, playing for Fortuna Dusseldorf. He scored his first Bundesliga goal on November 22, 2015, in a match against Dramstadt 98.
In August 2016, Bauer moved to Werder Bremen, and two years later, he was loaned to FC Nurnberg. He later signed a long-term contract with the Russian club FC Arsenal Tula and relocated to Sint-Truiden, Belgium, in September 2021.
Furthermore, Bauer represented Germany in international competitions. He participated in the FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand in 2015 and was also part of the squad for the 2016 Summer Olympics, where Germany won the silver medal.
