Star director Atlee, who’s the brains behind the blockbuster movie “Jawan,” starring Shah Rukh Khan, isn’t taking a break from his success. After conquering the global box office with his recent Bollywood film, he’s now aiming for an even greater achievement – the Oscars. Yes, you heard it right!
In a recent chat with ETimes, Atlee spilled the beans on his huge dream to take “Jawan” to the fancy Academy Awards. It really shows how he’s all fired up to leave a mark on the big global movie stage.
During the interview, Atlee was asked if he’s now targeting the Oscars, to which he replied, “Absolutely, I hope ‘Jawan’ can make it there if everything aligns perfectly. I believe that every effort, whether it’s from a director, a technician, or anyone involved in cinema, aims for recognition at the Golden Globes, Oscars, National Awards, and every other prestigious accolade. So, yes, I would love to see ‘Jawan’ at the Oscars. Let’s see what happens. I think Khan sir will read this interview, and I’ll also discuss it with him over a call – ‘Sir, should we aim for the Oscars?'”
It’s worth noting that “Jawan” was also filmed in Hyderabad.
It’s been more than 10 days since “Jawan” hit the screens, and it’s still a big deal both here and abroad. The movie’s already made a cool Rs 850 crore worldwide, and it’s gunning for the elusive Rs 1000 crore club. Let’s see how it all pans out.
