This summer, on China’s southern coast, there’s this fancy hotel called the Karl Lagerfeld Hotel Macau. It’s like super luxurious, like a five-star thing, and guess what? It was all thought up by the famous designer Karl Lagerfeld, who isn’t with us anymore.
It’s right there in The Grand Lisboa Palace Resort, and it’s like the only hotel in the world that Lagerfeld himself designed.
So, there are like 271 rooms in this place, and they’re all super fancy, inspired by Chinese art stuff. They got these custom headboards with old coin designs, some fancy vases from Jingdezhen, and these cool room dividers that look like Chinese moon gates. It’s all about making you feel rich and fancy.
But the rest of the hotel is like a mix of modern and old Chinese style. It’s got those cool Chinoiserie vibes, you know, with bright colors and some Western touches. They even got this restaurant called Mesa, and this chef, José Avillez, makes the food there. He’s won awards and stuff, so you know it’s gonna be good.
And if you want to chill, there’s a library with like 4,000 books, and there’s also a spa with pools. So, you got options for relaxing.
They didn’t stop at just the rooms, though. Lagerfeld got all artsy with the whole place. There are these special sculptures by Dutch dude Marcel Wanders and French guy Jean-Michel Othoniel. Plus, they got these fancy Terzani chandeliers hanging around.
So, the Karl Lagerfeld Macau is all about showing off Lagerfeld’s creativity. It’s like a piece of his artistic mind in a hotel. Super posh and stylish, for sure
