The 2023 WWE Fastlane is the next big wrestling show by WWE, and it’s the seventh one of its kind. This event is for the wrestlers from WWE’s Raw and SmackDown brands. They’re going to put on this show on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is a bit special because the last Fastlane was back in 2021, and this time, they’re doing it on a Saturday in October.
And check this out, this is the first time WWE is throwing a Pay-Per-View (PPV) thing in Indy since Clash of Champions back in September 2016. That was at the same place, but it used to be called Bankers Life Fieldhouse before they changed it in 2021.
They used to call this shindig “WWE Fastlane” ’cause it was on the road to WrestleMania, you know, the biggest wrestling gig of the year. But for 2023, they’re not rolling with that name anymore ’cause it’s happening like six months after WrestleMania 39. So, yeah, things are changing up in the wrestling world.
Predicted Matchcard Of WWE Fastlane 2023
WWE Women’s Championship (IYO SKY vs Charlotte Flair)
IYO SKY became the WWE Women’s Champion by cashing in her Money in the Bank contract at SummerSlam, taking the title from Bianca Belair. There was supposed to be a rematch with Belair, but she disappeared from TV for a while. Meanwhile, Charlotte Flair attacked The Damage CTRL on SmackDown. So, IYO SKY is going to defend her title against Charlotte Flair at Fastlane, which is her first pay-per-view championship defense.
World Heavyweight Championship (Seth Rollins vs Shinsuke Nakamura)
Seth Rollins and Shinsuke Nakamura have been in a feud since SummerSlam. They had their first World Heavyweight Championship match at Payback, which Rollins won. After the match, Nakamura attacked Rollins to keep the feud going. On Raw, Nakamura refused a spontaneous rematch, but they’re still mad at each other. They’ll fight for the World Heavyweight Championship again at Fastlane.
The Miz vs LA Knight
The Miz doesn’t like LA Knight because he’s suddenly become really popular. They had a match at Payback, and LA Knight won with some last-minute referee rules involving John Cena. Miz demanded a rematch with no special rules on the latest Raw episode. So, it’s likely they’ll have a match at Fastlane.
