Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert, the talented dancers, have tied the knot! They got married on August 26 in California. It’s wonderful news! The couple is so happy.
Derek is 38 years old, and Hayley is 28. They are officially married now. Their wedding was in Monterey County, California, on August 26. They showed their first wedding photo to PEOPLE magazine. They also shared the photo on their Instagram pages. It’s a lovely picture.
Derek and Hayley got married in front of 106 guests. They chose a special place for their wedding. It’s a redwood forest. They stood in front of a big mother tree. All around, there were smaller trees. Hayley said it’s like the mother tree has an army of children to protect it. This made their wedding even more special. They feel like they’re planting seeds to grow their own family.
During their wedding, Derek and Hayley said personal vows to each other. They also followed the traditional vows. Hayley wore a beautiful wedding dress made by Georgina Chapman from Marchesa. The music playing when she walked down the aisle was “Unconditional” by Richard Walters. It was a version he made just for them. Derek wore a suit designed by Tom Ford.
After the wedding, they had a party in an old barn. Many famous people came to celebrate with them. Jenna Johnson, Shawn Johnson, Nina Dobrev, Shaun White, Alfonso Ribeiro, Freida Pinto, Amy Purdy, Robert and Kym Hejavec, and Julianne Hough were all there.
Derek and Hayley are both amazing dancers. They met in 2014 when Hayley joined their MOVE Live Tour. They met again in Dancing with the Stars, where Hayley was in the troupe. Derek was partnered with Bindi Irwin that season. After a while, they started dating, but they didn’t tell anyone until 2017.
They got engaged in June 2022. It was a big moment for them. Derek shared a photo of the proposal. The person who helped plan it, Troy Williams from Simply Troy Lifestyle + Events, said it happened in their living room. He had set up 250 candles. Derek actually proposed on May 23, even though they announced it in June. Troy said it was touching to make it a surprise for Hayley in their own home.
Derek proposed as soon as they came in the room. Troy was there to see it and so was a photographer named Anée Atelier. Derek gave Hayley a beautiful oval diamond ring from Paris Jewelers. It was a really special moment.
