The India vs Pakistan match in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2023 was postponed to the reserve day due to rain in Colombo. It’s now scheduled to start at 3 pm IST today. However, there’s concern that rain might disrupt the match again.
If rain decides to act up today, it could mean the India-Pakistan match gets scrapped, and both teams get one point each. The Asian Cricket Council gave us an extra day, but who knows if the weather in Colombo will cooperate, right?
To have a valid match, you gotta play at least 20 overs in each inning. Right now, India got 24.1 overs in, and Pakistan hasn’t even had their turn yet. As of 9 am IST, the weather report says there’s a real high chance of rain hanging around in Colombo all day and into the night.
Remember, the last time India played Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023, the rain messed it up too. So, everyone’s got their fingers crossed for today’s match. If it doesn’t happen, we might see these two teams square off again in the final, if they make it there.
Now, there are four teams in this Super Four stage fighting for a spot in the final – India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. Pakistan’s on top of the points table with one win, followed by Sri Lanka with one win too. India hasn’t played yet, and poor old Bangladesh lost both of their matches.
The big showdown for the Asia Cup 2023 final is set for September 17, 2023. We’ll find out who’s gonna be there after the 12th match wraps up.
