Hey, so, Indians are like super stoked about the comeback of Takeshi’s Castle, you know that awesome show we watched as kids in the 90s? And, like, we’re all tripping down memory lane, remembering those days when Jaaved Jafferi’s voice rocked the house.
However, there’s a bit of a disappointment for JJ’s fans. It seems like a new voice is going to replace Jaaved Jafferi in the show’s reboot. According to reports, Bhuvan Bam, a well-known YouTube creator, actor, and singer, is likely to be the new voice for the show.
Jaaved Jafferi’s funny voice and unique way of narrating the Japanese show made it popular and engaging for the Indian audience when it first aired in India in 2005.
A source close to Bhuvan Bam mentioned that the production house reached out to him to provide Hindi commentary for the nostalgic game show. However, it’s important to note that this information hasn’t been officially confirmed yet.
The Takeshi’s Castle reboot premiered on Amazon Prime Video in Japan in April. International versions of the show are scheduled to be released in September.
Okay, so, who’s this Bhuvan Bam guy, you ask? Well, he’s this big shot YouTuber, right? He hit it big with ‘BB Ki Vines,’ where he posted funny skits and stuff. Then, he started doing music and dropped ‘Teri Meri Kahani’ in 2016.
He even tried acting with ‘Dhindora’ on his YouTube channel. And, check this out, in January 2023, he made his OTT debut with ‘Taaza Khabar.’ Now, he’s, like, gonna be the voice of Takeshi’s Castle. That’s some big stuff right there.
When Amazon Prime Video announced the reboot of this famous 80s Japanese game show last year, it stirred up nostalgia among 90s kids who grew up watching the show. Many expressed their excitement on social media and asked Jaaved Jafferi if he would return as the commentator.
Some fans even said things like, “Will you be the Hindi voiceover again this time? If you are, we’ll definitely watch,” highlighting how much they associated the show with his voice. Others mentioned, “You’ve set the bar too high; it’s impossible to listen to someone else.”
In simple terms, people are really excited about Takeshi’s Castle coming back, but there’s some concern about whether Bhuvan Bam can fill Jaaved Jafferi’s shoes as the show’s commentator, given how iconic Jaaved’s voice is to fans.
